Coloni Regrets Lost Opportunities
Coloni Motorsport team boss Paolo Coloni was satisfied to leave Imola with his driver Gianmaria Bruni in third place in the GP2 Championship, but was disappointed that his team was unable to take more from the second race
Bruni started the race in fifth place, immediately behind race winner Adam Carroll, but problems with the car meant the Italian was unable to mount a strong challenge in the race.
Coloni noted: "It was a big shame for Gimmi today because he was able to stay with Carroll at the start but then a mounting on the suspension came loose and that was a big problem."
The errant mounting pulled in and out from the body of the car by three centimetres from the second lap, disrupting Bruni's race by making the car extremely difficult to control into the corners.
Despite the problem Coloni was upbeat about the weekend, noting: "Gimmi was fantastic today considering what happened to him. Mathias was good too, and gave Pantano a few problems.
"But the most important thing is that we are third in the Championship, and that's a good start."
