Bruni praises 'amazing' Trident
GP2 race winner Gianmaria Bruni has praised the amazing effort of Trident Racing in becoming a race-winning outfit in only their second outing
Bruni took a lights-to-flag win in Imola, and together with pole position and fastest lap, he earned a maximum 13-point haul.
"The job the team has done in just four and a half months is amazing," he said. "I had a great car in the race. The strategy to pit when we did under the safety car was perfect and the team just acted very cool.
"I had three or fourth tenths in my pocket and when I had to use this I could."
Bruni's teammate Andreas Zuber was on course for eighth and pole for tomorrow's sprint race, when he suffered a spectacular blow out. Earlier in the race he had ran over debris caused by one of the numerous crashes, which caused a slow puncture.
"When I saw Filippi and Monfardini crash in front of me I thought 'yes!' and then bang! the tyre just blew," Zuber said.
