Brits out in force at Monaco

British F3 Champion Marc Hynes is set to retain his F3000 drive for the remainder of the season with the World Racing Team, despite not qualifying for round four at the Nurburgring

Hynes competed for WRT at the Nurburgring as a replacement for the sacked Hidetoshi Mitsusada but missed the cut for the race by three places. He has been given a reprieve for the Monaco race, and the rest of the season, due to the extenuating circumstances in Germany, namely an ill-fitting seat causing his leg to rub on the steering column.

Team boss Gabriele Rafanelli said: "In principal, he will drive for us for the rest of the season."

Jamie Davies will also race again for the Fortec team (as reported on Autosport.com 17/05/00) while the regular Mario Haberfeld is still recovering from leg injuries sustained in qualifying at Barcelona.

British front-runner Justin Wilson will also be running a brand new Lola B99/50 chassis after having written off his original tub during his collision with Franck Motagny at the Nurburgring.
