Aleshin to replace Buemi for finale

Mikhail Aleshin will drive for ART for the second time this season at Valencia, where he will replace Sebastien Buemi this weekend

The Russian driver, who has taken one win in World Series by Renault this year, raced for the reigning GP2 champions in Barcelona, before Buemi became the full-time replacement for Michael Ammermuller.

However, Buemi is unavailable for the season finale this weekend, as he has a clashing commitment in the F3 Euro Series, where he is still in with a chance of the title heading into the penultimate round at Nogaro.

"The title is very important for me," Buemi told autosport.com. "Maybe it would have been better for me if I had just focused on F3 this year, but I think my GP2 experience from this year will benefit me in the future."

Aleshin, who is currently 13th in the Word Series by Renault standings, will partner Lucas di Grassi this weekend, as the Brazilian tries to win ART's third consecutive GP2 title.

The 20-year-old scored points on his series debut in Spain earlier this year, when he took a sixth place finish from 21st on the grid.
