Teams set for first winter test

Several drivers will get their first taste of World Series by Renault machinery at the series' first winter test at Valencia this week

A1 Team Canada's Sean McIntosh, F3 Euroseries racer Giedo Van de Garde and Formula Renault Eurocup runner-up Michael Ammermuller head the list of rookie drivers taking part in the two-day test at the Spanish circuit.

Robert Kubica is getting back into the wheel of his championship winning Epsilon-Euskadi car in preparation for his Renault F1 test in Barcelona on December 1. The test will help him again acclimatise to left-foot braking and paddle-shift cars again having driving a Formula Three car in Macau last weekend.

Champions Epsilon will also test three drivers with experience of the series, Giorgio Mondini, Pastor Maldonado and Thomas Kostka.

New team Comtec are running McIntosh, and former Formula Renault UK racer Susie Stoddart.

Red Bull-backed Colin Fleming has switched from Jenzer Motorsport to Carlin as he looks to find a drive next season, he will join the former Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 driver, Mihail Aleshin in the British squad.

Ben Hanley will gain more World Series experience with Cram Competition after his debut race meeting at Estoril in October.
