Scuderia Toro Rosso reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo will return to the Formula Renault 3.5 category this year after clinching a deal with ISR Racing
The Australian, who will run in Friday practice sessions at grands prix for Toro Rosso, finished runner-up in FR3.5 last season behind champion Mikhail Aleshin.
Ricciardo's team-mate will be Formula 2 champion Dean Stoneman, who got his first experience of F1 machinery last year when he tested for Williams. Stoneman also contested the final FR3.5 meeting of the 2010 season after wrapping up the F2 title.
ISR team boss Igor Salaquarda said he hoped that the line-up of Ricciardo and Stoneman would allow his outfit to deliver a competitive performance this year.
"Being able to work with Daniel Ricciardo, who was one of our most appreciated rivals in 2010, and Dean Stoneman, who won the last FIA F2 title, will be extremely challenging for us," he said.
"We will also be wearing the same Red Bull colours of the 2010 Formula 1 world champions, and that makes me really proud, as we are the first team from Eastern Europe to have reached the top in international open-wheel racing."
