Monza wins for Leinders and Montagny
Bas Leinders and Franck Montagny shared the spoils in the fourth round of the Telefonica World Series at Monza in Italy as they chase down series leader Ricardo Zonta
Leinders won the opening race at Monza by 8secs from Montagny, these two well clear of a battle for third which was won by reigning F3000 champion Justin Wilson. Zonta, who started from the back row after an oil pump failure in qualifying, stormed his way through to finish fifth, just behind Angel Burgueno.
Montagny got his revenge in race two, beating Leinders by just over a second. Andre Couto finished third this time, ahead of Wilson and Zonta, the latter losing time when his right-rear wheel stuck during his mandatory pitstop. Jean Christophe Ravier escaped with bruised feet after he tangled with Narain Karthikeyan at the first chicane.
Zonta leads the championship by six points from Leinders, who is 13 ahead of Montagny.
