Montanari Takes Monaco Win
Christian Montanari dominated the maiden World Series by Renault race at Monaco

Montanari led the race from start to finish to finish ahead of Jaap Van Lagen and Adrian Valles.
The Draco driver's lead only looked under threat when the safety car was brought out to recover two cars. Giovanni Tedeschi had spun at Casino Square and Medhi Bennani has a similar incident at the Swimming Pool chicane.
However Montanari then pulled away, meaning Lagen and Valles could not improve on their starting positions.
Montanari said that despite the safety car, the race went smoothly. "It was hard to maintain the tempo from a physical point of view. I was a little bit apprehensive when the Safety Car was brought out, but I was able to handle the situation."
Jaap Van Lagen said he was unable to live with Montanari's pace. Lagen said: "I got off to a very good start but I couldn't get past Christian. After the Safety Car was brought out, I had a problem with first and second gear. It is very difficult to overtake here, because the cars take up so much of the track."
Former McLaren Autosport award winner Alex Lloyd hit the barrier on the penultimate corner on the last lap. He lost 13th place.
