Lancaster, Nebylitskiy get penalties
Two post-race penalties have demoted the fifth and sixth place finishers, Jon Lancaster and Anton Nebylitskiy, to ninth and 10th positions in this afternoon's Formula Renault 3.5 race at Spa-Francorchamps
Fortec Motorsport's Jon Lancaster received a 10-second post-race penalty for not respecting the track limits. Team boss Richard Dutton commented: "Jon passed [Jan] Charouz at the last chicane by cutting the corner but then let him through, so that's why they didn't give him a penalty at first, but he has now been protested by [Greg] Mansell.
"I think there were two other occasions, both at the last chicane, but Jon insists he didn't overtake anyone. Second and fifth was obviously better than second and ninth, but I am sure Jon will do a good job tomorrow.
"I think he was a bit nervous coming here for the first time against guys who have a bit of experience, but with the drive he had, doing 2m06.1s lap times, I am sure he has got over that now."
Having finished in sixth place on the road, KMP Racing's Nebylitskiy was also hit with a 10 second penalty for causing a collision with Nathanael Berthon at the La Source hairpin.
Comtec's Greg Mansell moves into fifth place as a result of the changes, ahead of Federico Leo in sixth and P1 Motorsport team-mates Walter Grubmuller and Charouz.
