Kimball set to miss finale
Charlie Kimball is set to miss the final World Series by Renault round of the season at Barcelona this weekend after he was diagnosed with diabetes last week
The American had to miss last weekend's penultimate round at Estoril due to doctors' advice, and he is not expecting to be fit enough to race at Barcelona.
"Following the advice of specialists, I will probably not compete in the final race of the season in Barcelona," said Kimball.
"There aren't words to express how disappointed I am not to be competing in the last two race weekends, for myself, as well as everyone at Victory Engineering.
"But I am doing everything I can to get back to full health as soon as possible and return to the cockpit."
Victory Engineering did not replace Kimball for the Portuguese races, and the team have not yet announced their plans for this weekend.
Kimball has had a difficult maiden season in the category this year, and he is currently 24th in the standings.
