Draco retain Baguette for 2009

Bertrand Baguette will embark on a third Formula Renault 3.5 season in 2009 after agreeing to remain with Draco Racing

The 22 year-old Belgian will resume his partnership with Marco Barba, as the team retain their driver line-up for next year.

"I'm really happy to be with Draco again," said Baguette. "The team became like a family for me and I'm sure that we will have a very strong association next year.

"I'm very proud that (team boss) Adriano (Morini) has asked me to stay and I'll do my maximum to not disappoint him."

Draco's winter testing has been spearheaded by Spaniard Barba during the collective sessions at Paul Ricard and Valencia in November. Although Baguette was on hand as a spectator at Le Castellet, he has been testing in several other categories.

Baguette most recently completed a DTM outing with Colin Kolles' TME Audi team at Almeria in Spain, having previously sampled Pescarolo's Le Mans Series car and GP2 machinery with BCN at Ricard.

Morini said: "I decided to reconfirm Bertrand for both personal and technical reasons. I have spoken with Bertrand a long time and we decided to take this step.

"We know that Baguette had many opportunities. He was called to drive with many teams and categories at the end of the season, and also Draco had many drivers who wanted to drive with us. But we made a journey for one year and now we want to carry it forward."

Baguette was classified seventh in the 2008 standings, taking a solitary victory on home soil in the reverse grid race at Spa-Francorchamps.
