Coletti completes Comtec line-up

Coletti will line up alongside Greg Mansell at the team, which took Alx Danielsson to the championship title in 2006.

"Stefano comes with an excellent sporting pedigree; his father was a successful P1 Powerboat racer - the Formula 1 of the sea - and his sister is a top downhill skier, so I think his competitive spirit is in his genes," said Comtec team manager John Barnett.

"Stefano has the right combination of experience and natural ability to do well at Comtec Racing. With his team-mate Greg Mansell, we feel we will be a very competitive team this season and I can't wait for the season to get started."

Coletti made a one-off FR3.5 appearance with Prema in Monaco last year and finished 10th. He also contested a handful of GP2 races later in the season. The 20-year-old Monegasque-Italian led the F3 Euro Series standings after last year's opening rounds, but eventually slipped to 10th in the standings.

He hopes to be an FR3.5 frontrunner from the outset with Comtec.

"It's a great team, I like the people in the team, and I think we can do a great job together," said Coletti. "I will be giving full commitment; doing my best to win as many races as I can, and to be at the front of the championship."
