Nicolas Prost fastest on final day of pre-season Formula E testing

Nicolas Prost topped the final day of Formula E pre-season testing, as rain yet again limited the 10 teams' running in the afternoon

The Renault e.dams driver went quickest in the morning session on a 1m30.513s, leading team-mate Sebastien Buemi in a Renault Z.E.15 one-two.

Jerome d'Ambrosio continued the Dragon Racing team's solid pre-season with the third-best time, narrowly edging Bruno Senna and Stephane Sarrazin.

The two teams to have suffered dismal pre-seasons up until the final day enjoyed breakthrough moments in the morning.

Andretti Autosport logged 39 laps between Robin Frijns, who has targeted a race seat with the team, and confirmed driver Simona de Silvestro, a feat achieved after the American squad reverted to the season-one powertrain overnight.

Trulli also made its first appearance of pre-season when Vitantonio Liuzzi completed the Motomatica JT-01's first installation lap of testing so far.

The Italian caused two red flags: first when he stopped at the Redgate having just exited the pitlane prior to lunch, and again in the afternoon having attempted to take the cut-through where the circuit diverts from the national circuit onto the GP loop.

By the day's end the team had managed half a dozen installation laps, accruing data it will consider vital with the cars set to be shipped to Beijing this week with no serious running achieved.

The final test was conspicuous by the absence of headline-grabbing laptimes, though this was largely down to rain falling in the afternoon for the second day in a row, which prevented Prost's time from being beaten.

Jean-Eric Vergne went fastest for the DS Virgin Racing team in the afternoon session on a 1m31.048s.

That bested Frijns - who, along with de Silvestro (who went off on a hotlap), took Andretti's final-day lap tally to 71 - and Senna's Mahindra entry by just under half a second.
