Buemi and Prost seek answers for Long Beach Formula E power issues
Sebastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost believe their e.dams Formula E team needs to see what it can learn from a troubled Long Beach race where both felt down on power
Prost slumped down the order from a front-row starting position before getting a drive-through penalty for hitting Jerome d'Ambrosio, while Buemi felt that he couldn't match Abt's Lucas di Grassi for speed in their battle for third in the closing stages.
Both drivers complained of being down on power at various stages of the race, and they want to find out if it was a problem that the French team can learn from.
"We need to understand what we did wrong," former championship leader Prost told AUTOSPORT.
"Maybe there was a problem - there was a lot of noise coming from my car, so we need to see.
"I just had no power. I could make up time in the corners, but I was losing it on the straight.
"And as soon as there was a fight I had no chance - people we just overtaking me."
Buemi added: "It's disappointing not to score many points when you clearly have the car to get a good result.
"In the race I had a problem with the battery, so I was losing a lot on the straights and I had some big cuts in power.
"I don't think I could have done any more, but it's a shame when you have the fastest car and you go home knowing you didn't score the points that you could have."
