Video: Habsburg on his attempt to win the Macau GP on the final lap
Ferdinand Habsburg talks through his dramatic attempt to win the Macau Grand Prix in the latest edition of motorsport.tv's The Flying Lap
The Carlin driver's battle for the lead with Sergio Sette Camara, which resulted in both hitting the wall at the final corner and Dan Ticktum coming through to win, was arguably the most spectacular climax in the history of the illustrious event.
Habsburg tells host Peter Windsor about what was going through his mind during his intense battle with Camara, and reveals how he had run through the scenarios to take the lead at the final corner.
"In my mind, 50 times at least, I was going through R Bend [the final corner] on the last lap for the lead," says Habsburg.
"I was in the position of the lead or the guy in second place and I was going through every single possible option that I had if I was going for the overtake or going for the defence.
"I don't know why, because normally you never fight at R Bend for the lead." Habsburg then explains how it felt when he hit the wall, and the reaction from his Carlin team.
He also also took a video camera to Macau for motorsport.tv, using it to create a unique behind-the-scenes look at what the event is like for a driver.
