Third 1-2 for Carlin at Silverstone

Alvaro Parente has taken his ninth season British F3 win today, with teammate Charlie Kimball in second to give Carlin Motorsport their sixth 1-2 finish of the season

The race ended a perfect weekend for the team at Silverstone, with Parente and Kimball taking the top two spots in all three races - Kimball taking one win, while Parente has taken the other two.

The race was effectively won at the start - when Parente, starting from second, shot past pole-sitter Marko Asmer, who made a bad start. The Estonian would eventually finish fifth.

"My start was very good," Parente said after the race. "It was my best start of the three races. At the start, I pulled away from [Mike] Conway, even though my car's tyres only came in slowly.

"It meant I had some oversteer, but Asmer and Charlie were fighting and that let me pull away a little more. It meant I could win by a comfortable margin."

Third place went to Bruno Senna, taking his first podium. He said: "I got a good start and got Asmer, but he took me back at Copse.

"I finally got a tow into Stowe and braked really late when he tried to outbreak me. I went really wide, and then was able to get Kane too. After that it was just not making any mistakes."
