Testing: Davison leads the way

Australian Will Davison headed the times in testing around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit for this weekend's final rounds of the British Formula 3 Championship on Friday.

Behind Davison, his team-mate Robert Doornbos was second fastest ahead of recently-crowned champion Alan van der Merwe, while an impressive fourth fastest was Lewis Hamilton, who is making his F3 debut with Manor Motorsport this weekend.

Completing the top six was Nelson Piquet Junior, while it was not such a good day for 2002 British F3 champion Robbie Kerr who was only 17th fastest in the Lola-Dome entered by Alan Docking Racing.

In the Scholarship class, Ernesto Viso headed title rivals Steven Kane and Karun Chandhok.
