T-Sport rejoins British Formula 3 grid for Nurburgring

T-Sport is to join the British Formula 3 International Series grid for this month's final round at the Nurburgring

The team, which was a stalwart of the series from 2002-12, will run its F3 European Championship regular Spike Goddard in his usual ThreeBond/Nissan-powered Dallara.

Goddard, who claimed the 2012 British F3 National Class title, will run solo at the German event as the main object of the exercise is to give the Australian more track experience.

T-Sport technical director Alan 'Skelly' Woodhead said: "The Nurburgring is a good circuit and he learned quite a lot from it last month [on the shorter version used in the European championship].

"We always said that if we could we would support the British series, and now that we're getting towards the end of the season we can be a little bit more flexible on engine mileage."

Woodhead added that T-Sport will extend its relationship with British racer Alexander Sims - who took a podium finish last time out at the Nurburgring - to encompass the next European round at Zandvoort.

No final decision has yet been taken on whether factory McLaren GT racer Sims will contest the last two European rounds, at Vallelunga and Hockenheim.
