Spengler and Green to Europe
Mercedes has lined up drives for two of its young prodigies in the Formula 3 Euroseries next year. Bruno Spengler will join the leading Mücke team, and Jamie Green will race for ASM.
Spengler was with ASM last year and was unlucky not to win a race. His impressive form has now earned him a transfer to this year's leading Mercedes' team. The Mucke squad helped Christian Klien to second in the 2003 series.
"Mücke Motorsport is one of the best - if not the best - F3 teams around," said Spengler. "I cannot say how delighted I am to be part of such a highly professional team."
The 20-year-old Canadian will be partnered by Polish driver Robert Kubica at Mücke. Sardinian Masters winner Kubica replaces Markus Winkelhock.
Green, meanwhile, goes back for his first full season in the Euroseries with the ASM team. Alexandre Prémat has been confirmed as his team-mate.
21-year-old Green moves up from the British series, where he was runner-up in 2003 with Carlin. He also did three rounds of the Euroseries this year - including an outing at Pau for ASM.
"I don't know all the circuits but hopefully I can be in with a shout," said Green. "I went into British F3 not knowing what was a realistic target, and we ended up pretty close there."
