Spaniard Alex Toril joins T-Sport for F3 European Championship
Spaniard Alex Toril has become the second driver to join British team T-Sport for this year's Formula 3 European Championship
The 17-year-old, who claimed fifth in last year's European F3 Open (his second season in the series), tested strongly with the team in the lead-up to Christmas.
He joins Australian Spike Goddard in the T-Sport line-up, and it is believed that the squad could expand to three cars before the season kicks off.
"I am very happy to be able to race in the FIA European F3 series as I get to race with a very professional team and also have the unique experience of racing at the Macau Grand Prix," said Toril, whose mother and father both competed in rallying and whose older brother is an International GT Open contender.
"I'm sure that with T-Sport I will be able to do a great job. I hope I can demonstrate this year all the experience I've been accumulating during the last two seasons and see how this has prepared me for one of the most competitive European grids."
T-Sport boss Russell Eacott added: "We're delighted that Alex has joined us and we look forward to working with him.
"The European championship is very competitive but we think Alex has what it takes to do a great job."
