Snetterton 2: Kerr takes series lead

Robbie Kerr has re-taken the lead of the British Formula 3 Championship with a dominant victory at Snetterton. James Courtney took fifth place and now lies seven points behind the championship leader after struggling to get on terms with Kerr

Robbie Kerr also set fastest lap to earn the potentially vital bonus point for fastest lap in a scrappy race interrupted by two safety car periods. The first was triggered by debris on the track after a first lap melee at Riches, and the second during the middle of the race after three cars clashed at Russell.

Frenchman Bruce Jouanny returned to form with second place after passing previous second place man Fabio Carbone briefly went off at Russell and slipped to third place which he would hold to the finish.

Fortec star Heikki Kovalainen triumphed in a fraught three-way battle for fourth place with Courtney and his Carlin Motorsports team-mate Alan van der Merwe. The trio swapped positions several times during the race, Kovalainen ultimately winning the battle after Courtney was forced to battle back past van der Merwe having slipped to sixth.

Manor Motorsport pairing Richard Antinucci and Ronnie Bremer completed the top eighth, followed by star of the race Adam Carroll.

The Scholarship class winner had started down in 20th position, but fought his way through to win the class after previous leaders Clivio Piccione and Robert Dahlgren dropped out of contention, the latter after a clash with Bremner.
