RC left driverless after spate of musical chairs

The RC Prost Junior Formula 3 team has been left without any drivers for this weekend's round of the British Championship at Castle Combe after Nicolas Kiesa followed in the footsteps of former team mate Ryan Dalziel and walked out on the squad

The Anglo-Italian team has failed to produce results so far this year and Kiesa's departure comes just one week after Dalziel.

"We worked well last season," Kiesa told this week's Autosport magazine, "and I thought we were again early this year, but then things got worse. I told them I wanted to see some more performance and it just didn't happen. It's too expensive for me to carry on like this."

Kiesa is thought to have no firm plans of where he will move to. Dalziel, meanwhile, has secured a seat at the Duma Racing squad, alongside Jamie Spence.

Dalziel, a finalist in the McLaren Autsport BRDC Young Driver Award for the last two years, quit the RC team just before the most recent round of the championship at Rockingham 10 days ago. The Scot tested for Duma at Snetterton last week and was immediately impressed with the results.

"I was second quickest," said Dalziel, "and that was good enough for me. It is a big improvement on how I've been with RC and I'm hoping to prove a point now."

Duma was started this year by team boss Pete Berry and the team's original plan was to run two cars, but it couldn't find a driver for the second car. Dalziel will make his race debut for the team this weekend at Castle Combe, the first time British F3 has visited the Wiltshire circuit for 28 years.
