Race 1: Green wins
Jamie Green took a lights-to-flag win in race one at Brno to celebrate his Formula 3 Euroseries title win in perfect style
Green out-dragged polesitter Alexandre Premat at the start and a devastating first lap earned him a 1.8-second lead and meant he was never challenged at the head of the field. His ASM team-mate mounted a mid-race charge that brought him slightly closer to the champ, but Green turned up the wick once to again to romp home a comfortable winner.
Premat's second place increases his chances of claiming second in the championship, especially after principle rival Nico Rosberg dropped valuable points. Rosberg made a great start to take third into Turn 1, but late in the race his Dallara-Opel developed a fuel pressure problem and he was powerless to prevent Prema's Franck Perera from grabbing the final podium spot on the penultimate lap.
Giedo van der Garde held off a queue of cars to take fifth, ahead of Roberto Streit and Lewis Hamilton, who drove a charging first lap to rise from ninth to seventh. Loic Duval took the final championship point.
