Qualifying 2: Van der Merwe on top
Championship leader Alan van der Merwe has taken pole position for the second British Formula 3 race at Croft
The South African headed surprise race one pole-winner Will Davison in the session, with American Richard Antinucci in third position.
Jamie Green recovered from his disappointment in the first qualifying session to secure fourth on the grid, ahead of Michael Keohane.
There was more controversy in the session as Danny Watts, who qualified sixth for the Hitech team, saw his time disallowed because of fuel irregularities in his car. It appear that some fuel from the team's generator somehow made its way into Watt's tank, and so the sample did not match the required 'template.'
Nelson Piquet Jr's car was repaired following his heavy crash in the first qualifying session, although the Brazilian was far from happy with its handling. He struggled to 14th on the grid.
