Parente Wins First Knockhill Race
Alvaro Parente won the first British F3 International Series race at Knockhill, after leading the wet race from start to finish
The Carlin Motorsport driver, who missed the first two races of the season, started the race from pole position and maintained a lead throughout the race, despite difficult weather conditions.
The race began under heavy rain, and the rainfall eased off only towards the end of the race.
T-Sport's Ryan Lewis finished second after a race-long battle with Fortec's Mike Conway, who finished third.
Lewis, starting from fourth position, overtook Steven Kane, who was third on the grid, on the second lap, and then went on to overtake Mike Conway on lap seven. Lewis maintained his position to the end, despite several attempts by Conway to overtake him.
Conway himself had to battle for his position with Kane as well, and by lap 17, Kane overtook Conway for third, but lost his place back to Conway on lap 21, when he was lapping Buno Senna and Nick Jones. The two backmarkers forced Kane to go wide, allowing Conway through and back to third.
The second race at Knockhill begins this afternoon, with parente again on pole position.
