Parente Makes it Perfect Two
Alvaro Parente wrapped up his British F3 weekend at Knockhill in style, winning the second race of the day after running safely in the lead from start to finish
Parente won the first race this morning in similar fashion, and he started both races from pole position, further compounding his domination of the weekend with Carlin Motorsport.
Once again the battle behind Parente offered excitement, but this time in dry conditions. It began with Marko Asmer and Ryan Lewis battling for second in the opening stages, before a collision caused Lewis to spin down the order. He eventually recovered to finish eighth.
Asmer, on the other hand, continued the fight, this time with Mike Conway, who was right behind Asmer and Lewis while their battle took place. Conway, who started the race in sixth position, overtook Charlie Kimball and inherited another place when Lewis spun off.
But Conway's progress up the field was all for nought. Running as high as second - after he overtook Asmer while the two were lapping a spinning Keiko Ihara - Conway's Opel Spiess engine gave up with just a couple of laps to the end.
This allowed Asmer to resume second place, while Kimball moved into third - his first F3 podium.
