Nurburgring 1: Glock's second win

Timo Glock scored his second win of the season at the Nurburgring on Saturday with a lights to flag victory from pole position

In a race interrupted by a lengthy safety car period, Glock (KMS Dallara-Opel) was shadowed throughout by fellow Opel junior driver Vitantonio Liuzzi (BSR Dallara-Opel). Recent Hockenheim GP support race winner Jeffrey van Hooydonk finished third, 2.2secs behind Glock.

Championship frontrunner Frank Diefenbacher was a distant fourth in his BSR Dallara-Opel, finishing ahead of PREMA's Cesar Campanico (Dallara-Opel) and the third BSR car of Bernhard Auinger.

Series leader Gary Paffett had his work cut out starting from 11th on the grid, but battled his way through to finish seventh, just outside the points, in his Team Rosberg Dallara-Opel. Kousuke Matsuura, who lies second in the points race, crashed out with Stefano Proetto, and also failed to score.
