New Red Bull junior Sette Camara sets the pace in F3 Euro test

Red Bull junior Sergio Sette Camara headed the official Formula 3 European Championship test day at the Hungaroring ahead of this weekend's second round

The Brazilian's Motopark Dallara-Volkswagen went comfortably clear of the opposition just into the final half-hour of running, giving a further boost to Sette Camara, who demonstrated a Red Bull Formula 1 car at Motorland Aragon last weekend.

Lance Stroll put in a quick lap just before the session closed, the Prema Powerteam driver ending up just 0.019 seconds adrift of Sette Camara.

The leading duo were some way ahead of the rest, with George Russell taking third place in his Hitech GP car, ahead of Prema man Maximilian Gunther and the second Motopark-run Red Bull junior, rookie Niko Kari.

Completing a show of strength for the East German Motopark team were Joel Eriksson and Ferrari junior Guan Yu Zhou, who were sixth and seventh respectively.

The slower morning session was a tour de force from Prema, with championship leader Nick Cassidy setting the quickest time, almost two tenths clear of Stroll, and with Gunther in third place.

The fourth Prema car of Ralf Aron was fourth until the very end of the session, when Van Amersfoort Racing's Callum Ilott displaced him.

The test day featured two dress rehearsals of the virtual safety car system, which has been written into the sporting regulations for 2016.

The afternoon VSC trial featured drama when a loose drainage cover between Turns 4 and 5 was hit by Mikkel Jensen, causing damage to the monocoque of the Mucke Motorsport car and meaning he will probably have to compete with a replacement tub this weekend.

The delay while marshals fixed the drain caused testing to be extended by a further 30 minutes.
