Melker on top at Lausitz test
Nigel Melker topped the opening day of F3 Euro Series testing at Lausitz on Wednesday
The Mucke Motorsport driver, who lies third in the championship following last weekend's round at Spielberg, completed 94 laps of the German circuit and set a best time of 1m18.359s in his Dallara-Mercedes.
Signature driver Marco Wittmann was his nearest challenger and was only 0.045s slower in his Volkswagen-engined car while Felix Rosenqvist made it two Mucke cars in the top three.
Daniel Abt, who took his first Euro Series podium last weekend, continued his improved form in fourth, ahead of runaway championship leader Roberto Merhi (Prema) and Carlos Munoz (Signature).
Gianmarco Raimondo and Kuba Giermaziak were next up for Prema and the Star Racing team while Daniel Juncadella was unusually down in 10th for Prema, behind Signature's Laurens Vanthoor.
The test continues on Thursday.
