Melker confirms Mucke GP3 return

Nigel Melker will return to GP3 next season with Mucke Motorsport

The 19-year-old Dutchman took the first two pole positions in this year's inaugural championship, but finished 23rd in the standings with just one top 10 finish.

"This has really been a learning year for me", said Melker. "I have gained a lot of experience this season and next year my goal is to fight for the wins. I have showed my potential with two pole positions and a fastest lap in Monza. I am feeling full of confidence."

Team boss Peter Mucke added: "We ended the season on a high with a second, fourth and eighth place during the qualifications in Monza. We will now have the chance to improve our car this winter, using Nigel's experience. We are convinced we can fight for the title next year."

Melker will race in the German F3 finale at Oschersleben this weekend with Jo Zeller Racing: "There aren't any more GP3 races, so this is a great way to stay sharp," he added.
