Magnussen wins again in race three
Kevin Magnussen scored his second British Formula 3 victory of the weekend at Snetterton this afternoon
The Carlin driver, who won race one, trailed poleman and team-mate Felipe Nasr at the start. Before Magnussen had a chance to attack, a startline clash between Will Buller's Fortec machine and the Sino Vision car of Hywel Lloyd sent Buller into the barriers and brought out the safety car.
Despite Nasr's efforts to make a break at the restart, Magnussen slip-streamed his team-mate before driving around the outside at Riches to take the lead. Nasr chased hard, but a sequence of mid 1m40s laps from Magnussen took the Dane clear.
Nasr then started falling down the order with a slow front-right puncture. He pitted to have it changed, then received a drivethrough penalty for dropping too far behind the safety car earlier in the race.
Once up and running again, the championship leader set a string of fastest laps, eventually taking a point - and the lap record - with a 1m39.933s effort.
Nasr's problems allowed team-mate Carlos Huertas into second. He was always able to stay clear of an impressive Riki Christodoulou after overcoming the Hitech driver on the first lap after the restart, but never looked like closing the gap to Magnussen, which grew as high as eight seconds before the leader backed off.
Christodoulou narrowly held off Carlin's Jazeman Jaafar to complete the podium, Jaafar's result making amends for a difficult weekend.
Pietro Fantin made it two Hitech cars in the top five, just ahead of a fine showing from Double R Racing. Pipo Derani led home team-mate Scott Pye in sixth and seventh.
Harry Tincknell was the first Fortec car home in eighth. After starting ninth a strong first lap took Tincknell to sixth, but he then went off behind the safety car and could not recover the lost ground.
Behind Fortec's Lucas Foresti, T-Sport's Yann Cunha took the second point of his 2011 season in 10th.
