Magnussen leads Carlin 1-2-3-4-5 at Silverstone test

Kevin Magnussen led a Carlin 1-2-3-4-5 in the last official British F3 test of 2011 at Silverstone

Magnussen was fastest in the first session of the day, and his 1m54.433s effort would remain unbeaten for the rest of the day.

"It was a really good day, we got some great results with everything we tried so I know we have good pace going into Silverstone," Magnussen said.

"I like the circuit a lot and have been here a few times before so I'm feeling confident for the final rounds of the season."

Carlos Huertas came within 14 thousandths of matching Magnussen's benchmark in the morning, and his time too would stand for the rest of the day, leaving him second.

2011 champion Felipe Nasr finished 0.160s down the road in third ahead of Jack Harvey, who was one of only three drivers to set his best time in the second of the day's three sessions.

Carlin's Jazeman Jaafar secured his place in the top five with a 1m54.935s effort set in the final session, leaving him just over half a second off Magnussen.

Fortec's William Buller headed Hitech's Pietro Fantin in the fight for sixth, with just 0.025s covering the pair.

Mitch Evans, Rupert Svendsen-Cook and Scott Pye rounded out the top ten, all three lapping within 1s of Magnussen's benchmark.
