Knockhill race 2: Piquet strolls home

Nelson Angelo Piquet won the second British Formula 3 Championship race at Knockhill, his first victory outside of South America and nearly 25 years since his father began winning races in the same series

Piquet became the eighth winner in eight races to lead from start-to-finish although he was the fifth different winner of the season.

Richard Antinucci gave chase early on having passed Jamie Green for second in an inspired move at the hairpin. He ruined his race however when he inexplicably spun at the hairpin on lap 7, dropping to 11th.

The race was stopped two laps from the end when Karun Chandhok became stranded on the kerbs at the hairpin. With the order Piquet, Green, Keohane.

Alan van der Merwe finished fourth ahead of Will Davison and Robert Dahlgren. Steven Kane won the Scholarship Class again finishing seventh overall. First race winner Clivio Piccione spun at the first corner and could only recover to finish 15th by the end of the race.
