Kimball Leads Carlin 1-2 in Race 1

Carlin Motorsport scored yet another one-two result at Silverstone's British Formula Three race today, but this time their Championship points leader Alvaro Parente had to give way to his American teammate Charlie Kimball

All of Carlin's rivals put themselves out of contention on the first lap. Pole position man Steven Kane (Promatecme) had a good getaway but then made a mistake and tangled with Bruno Senna (Double R) and Ryan Lewis (T-Sport) at the Abbey chicane.

That bottleneck gave the Kimball and Parente a giant lead before the safety car came out for an accident inolving Juho Annala. But they were away again when the race resumed, with a four-way fight for third playing out some way behind.

Dan Clarke (Double R) took Marko Asmer (Hitech Racing) at the re-start and held third until the end. Danilo Dirani (P1 Motorsport) did the same, staying in fourth ahead of Asmer and Mike Conway (Fortec Motorsport).
