Hamilton Takes F3 Masters Pole
Formula Three Euroseries points leader Lewis Hamilton placed himself in pole position for the Marlboro Masters of F3 at Zandvoort tomorrow
The Briton, who has dominated the season so far, set the fastest time by three tenths of a second ahead of his ASM teammate Adrian Sutil. Sutil was just a fraction clear of Brazilian Manor Motorsport's Lucas di Grassi.
Paul di Resta, di Grassi's teammate, was second fastest in Hamilton's qualifying group, and so lines up fourth on the grid due to the unusual split-qualifying system.
Qualifying takes place in two groups, with each group running in two sessions. One group qualifies on the odd grid positions, and the second qualifies on the even grid positions.
Briton Steven Kane was the best performer in a Lola chassis and will start fifth - a position that might have been better without an accident in his second session.
