Hamilton Anticipates Tougher Times
Lewis Hamilton remained cautious about his title chances in this year's Formula Three Euro Series, despite dominating at Pau this weekend
The ASM driver extended his lead at the head of the title chase with two dominant victories on the French street circuit, but he warned that others are likely to catch up in the next round at Spa-Francorchamps.
"Street circuits are a little bit different and I think it will be interesting next weekend," said Hamilton. "I think the gap will be closer."
The only blot on Hamilton's Pau weekend was in making a poor start in the second race - which allowed ASM teammate Adrian Sutil to briefly grab the lead before he was pressured into a mistake.
Looking back on his race, Hamilton said: "It was bloody hard. I didn't get enough temperature in my tyres at the start so Adrian got the jump on me.
"It was tough behind him and I had to get used to the lack of downforce. I knew my tyres would come in and his would go out and that is what happened - he started to slide and then he made a mistake at the last corner. I tried to go around the outside but he braked later - but it was too late."
