Grosjean takes Hockenheim pole

Formula Three Euro Series leader Romain Grosjean took another step towards sealing the title when he clinched pole position for Saturday's penultimate round at Hockenheim

Grosjean (ASM) took his fourth pole of the year and is now eight points clear of rival Sebastien Buemi, who could only manage the fifth fastest time in his Mucke Motorsport car.

Grosjean lapped in 1:32.805, nearly two tenths clear of teammate Nico Hulkenberg.

Yelmer Buurman was third quickest for Manor Motorsport, ahead of ASM's Kamui Kobayashi. Behind Buemi, Filip Salaquarda will start sixth for HBR.

Edoardo Mortara (Signature) and James Jakes (Manor) will start from the fourth row.

Grosjean said: "My car was incredibly good in qualifying. I wanted this pole and I gave everything to get it.

"It was particularly important because of the bonus point that is awarded. It is good that I have a teammate behind me and that my main rival is only fifth."

The top Volkswagen engine was Maxi Gotz (RC Motorsport) down in 17th position.
