GP3 set for Monaco debut

The GP3 Series is set to make its debut in Monte Carlo this year, in the only change to the schedule for the category's second season

The races on the support bill of the Monaco Grand Prix are currently listed as 'to be confirmed' on the calendar announced by GP3, but if the event goes ahead it would mean the championship was present at all of Formula 1's European rounds. Monte Carlo was the only European GP that did not host the inaugural GP3 championship in 2010.

GP3's second season commences at the Turkish Grand Prix on 6-8 May, following three winter tests, and concludes at Monza on 9-11 September.

The same 10 teams that contested the 2010 campaign stay on for '11, each running three cars. The rebranded Lotus ART squad retains #1-3 in the entry list having taken Esteban Gutierrez - now part of its GP2 line-up - to the title last year.

2011 GP3 schedule:

Test 3-4 March Paul Ricard
Test 29-31 March Silverstone
Test 12-14 April Barcelona
Race 7-8 May Istanbul
Race 21-22 May Barcelona
Race 27-28 May Monte Carlo
Race 25-26 June Valencia
Race 9-10 July Silverstone
Race 23-24 July Nurburgring
Race 30-31 July Hungaroring
Race 27-28 August Spa
Race 10-11 September Monza
