Fortec confirms driver line-up

Fortec Motorsport has confirmed that it will run Michael Bentwood and Gianmaria 'Gimmi' Bruni in the British Formula Three Championship this season

The announcement comes as no surprise, both drivers having tested extensively for Fortec in recent weeks. Bentwood is a category veteran, but Bruni is making his F3 debut after beating Antonio Pizzonia to last season's Formula Renault EuroCup title.

'I am very optimistic for the coming season,' said team boss Richard Dutton. 'I feel that Michael will grow with Fortec to become a more mature and competitive driver. Gimmi's pedigree is outstanding. We were immediately impressed with him at the first test, although he still has a lot to learn.

'It may not be easy for him, but I am sure he is going to be a star of the future.'

Bruni signed for Fortec despite German team KMS having announced that they had already hired the Italian.

Bentwood said: 'I am very pleased to join Fortec. I have got to the point in my career where I must win in order to move on and up, and with the guidance of Fortec I believe I can accomplish this.'
