Daniel Juncadella wants to step up to GP2 next year after taking his biggest victory of his racing career at the Macau Grand Prix
The 20-year-old Spaniard came out on top of a thrilling slipstreaming battle to beat Felipe Nasr and Marco Wittmann and become the first Spaniard to win the Formula 3 event.
And after taking third place in both the F3 Euro Series and FIA International F3 Trophy points, he feels ready for a step up the motorsport ladder, with the DTM also proving an attraction.
"I was thinking of doing GP2 because I have a big sponsor who has the money [for it]," he said. "We have to see if they want to pay, and as my sponsor is Mercedes I also was thinking about jumping to the DTM but that depends on them - we need to see.
"Maybe you [will] find me [spending] another year in F3 trying to win the Euro Series. Winning the championship helps a lot for the future."
Juncadella believes that his Macau success with Prema Powerteam - the Italian team's first victory at the legendary street circuit - will have a hugely positive impact on his racing career.
"For sure this race was great for me and for sure I will be racing next year [as a result]," he added.
"It [the win] will help a lot but especially with the situation right now with the economical situation, what you really need is a sponsor, but for sure having this result helps.
"I have never won a championship, I have been runner-up a few times and winning Macau is like winning a small championship. So it will help for sure."
