Da Costa wins race two at Brands

Antonio Felix da Costa won round 14 of the Formula 3 Euro Series at Brands Hatch in England, leading the 55-lap race from start to finish

Da Costa (Motopark) led home Carlos Munoz (Mucke) and Daniel Juncadella (Prema) who drove in grid order throughout the race. Their only excitement came at the end, when the chequered flag did not come out when it was supposed to.

The race's main incidents, predictably, occurred on the opening lap. Yesterday's race winner, and series leader, Edoardo Mortara was punted off at the first corner by his Signature team-mate Laurens Vanthoor. A corner later, ART duo Alexander Sims and Valtteri Bottas collided at Druids, Sims having run third through Paddock.

Bottas just held fourth, a position he would retain to the finish, while Sims dropped behind Marco Wittmann, Vanthoor and Matias Laine after losing momentum down the descent to Graham Hill Bend.

The only other position change that occurred in the top six point-scoring places was when Vanthoor ran wide at Graham Hill Bend, gifting a point to Motopark Academy's Laine.
