Carlin trio for Hockenheim
Carlos Huertas and Tom Dillmann will compete in this weekend's opening FIA F3 International Trophy round at Hockenheim for the Carlin team
The pair, who have already secured deals to race for Carlin in other championships this year, will join Jazeman Jaafar, who confirmed his participation in the full six-round series earlier this week.
Colombian driver Huertas (pictured), who currently lies fourth in the British F3 standings, said: "This weekend is going to be really interesting for me as I'll be racing on a [Kumho] tyre I have no previous experience of. It will be really interesting to see what difference this makes and how it affects the car."
By contrast, Dillmann, the reigning German F3 champion, has switched his main attention to GP3 this year with Carlin. He hopes that his experience of the Hockenheim circuit will help his cause.
"It will be nice to be back in an F3 car for the first time since I won the German championship," he said.
"It will be a big change for us however, of course I have experience of an F3 car and Hockenheim, but it will be a big challenge with the tyres which will be new for me and the team. We will only have limited practice time, so it will be tough, but we need to push from the start and learn as much as possible."
After Hockenheim, which is also the second round of the F3 Euro Series, the International Trophy will take in Pau, Spa, Zandvoort, Macau and Yeongam.
