Campos Racing announces Palou and Ashkanani for 2015 GP3 Series
Campos Racing has signed Alex Palou (pictured above) and Zaid Ashkanani as the first two drivers for its GP3 Series programme in 2015
Ex-Formula 1 racer Adrian Campos's team, a winner in GP2, has replaced Hilmer Motorsport in GP3 this year.
Palou finished third in EuroFormula Open with Campos last season, and tested Trident and ART's GP3 cars over the winter.
The 17-year-old Spaniard also contested the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix with Fortec and raced in the Silverstone GP track round of the BRDC Formula 4 Championship during 2014, which was his first season out of karts.
His 20-year-old Kuwaiti team-mate Ashkanani won the 2013/14 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East title and has limited single-seater experience from a handful of UK Formula Ford and ADAC Formula Masters appearances.
Ashkanani (pictured below) tried Trident's GP3 car last year and has tested extensively in Campos's EuroFormula Open machinery.
"We will make every effort to ensure we have a competitive package for them," said Campos.
"This new project in the GP3 Series is very promising, and it is going to be great to have both Alex and Zaid with us.
"Alex Palou already proved his worth during the collective tests held in the series in Abu Dhabi. I know Zaid pretty well as we have already worked together for a long time."
Arden International has also announced the first part of its 2015 GP3 line-up.
Polish 21-year-old Aleksander Bosak moves into the F1-supporting series with the team after focusing on Formula Renault ALPS for his single-seater career to date.
