Buller, Lynn, Tincknell and Stoneman had Thruxton British F3 offers
Formula Renault 3.5 racer Will Buller came close to a deal with Fortec Motorsport to make yet another British Formula 3 Championship return for last weekend's Thruxton round
The Northern Irishman joins the list of UK aces who were all linked with one-offs at the Thruxton event, which ultimately attracted just five entrants.
GP3 points leader Alex Lynn tested at Thruxton earlier this year with Carlin, but elected to focus on his primary campaign.
Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2-class winner Harry Tincknell was announced as a driver with Double R Racing, but chose not to race at Thruxton as he has important sportscar tests approaching.
Fortec was confident that its deal with Buller would be completed, but it fell through on the Tuesday before the event.
GP3 race winner Dean Stoneman was also interested in contesting the event, but by the time the Fortec seat had become vacant Stoneman had gone on holiday.
Tincknell and ex-British F3 race winner Riki Christodoulou were both driver-coaching with Fortec during the Thruxton weekend.
Christodoulou tested with the team at Anglesey last Tuesday, and reportedly lapped very quickly.
Sam MacLeod - who has contested most of the rounds to date - was absent in Japan, focusing on his debut in the All-Japan F3 Championship this weekend at Motegi with Toda Racing.
