ART Grand Prix completes 2017 GP3 line-up with Anthoine Hubert

The 20-year-old Frenchman's move was predicted by Autosport last month.

He joins Mercedes junior George Russell, Honda protege Nirei Fukuzumi and Renault Academy member Jack Aitken at ART.

"ART Grand Prix is proud to have one of the best young French drivers among its ranks," said team boss Sebastien Philippe of Hubert.

"We have followed Anthoine's career development for several years now and we have noticed his intelligent approach to racing, which will be an important asset for a championship as hotly contested as GP3."

Hubert was French F4 champion in 2013, then won races in the Formula Renault Eurocup and ALPS series before finishing eighth in European F3 with Van Amersfoort last year, his season including a win at the Norisring.

"This is an excellent career opportunity," said Hubert.

ART has won the GP3 teams' championship in six of the series' seven years of existence.

Reigning champion Charles Leclerc, who narrowly beat team-mate Alexander Albon to the crown, is ART's fourth GP3 drivers' title winner after Esteban Gutierrez, Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon.

The team also announced Albon as its second 2017 GP2 driver, alongside Nobuharu Matsushita, earlier this week.
