Adria day 1: Briscoe heads first Euro test
The first official test of the new Formula 3 Euroseries was dominated by the Italian Prema Powerteam squad at the Adria circuit in Italy
Toyota Formula 1 protégé Ryan Briscoe topped the times in his Prema Dallara-Opel, a tenth clear of Frenchman Nicolas Lapierre's Signature-run Dallara-Renault. German pre-season favourite Timo Glock was third fastest in his KMS Dallara-Opel, with Briscoe's Prema team-mates Katsuyuki Hirinaka and Roberto Kubica rounding out the top five.
The first Mercedes-powered car was that of Olivier Pla, whose ASM-run Dallara was sixth quickest. Other fancied runners included Markus Winkelhock (eighth for Mucke Motorsport) and Nico Rosberg (12th in his Team Rosberg Dallara-Opel). Marlboro Masters winner Fabio Carbone, in Signature's second entry, was only 13th fastest.
