Formula E is not increasing its power output in season three, and will phase in a planned hike instead.
A mistake in the technical regulations issued by the FIA on Wednesday incorrectly claimed the series would go ahead with raising peak power from 200kW to 250kW.
The regulations have since been amended and the Williams Advanced Engineering batteries will maintain the same power output as season two, while available energy remains at 28kWh.
This goes against the championship's original roadmap, in which season three was due to mark a significant step in both power and energy.
The series claims the decision was due to "careful analysis of the performance of the batteries and the cost of developing this technology".
Instead, it will phase the power increases in, raising peak power to 220kW for season four and 250kW for season five.
The original roadmap targeted 300kW of power by the fifth season. It is unclear how the championship's energy targets have altered.
The other changes for season three revealed on Wednesday, including an 8kg reduction in the overall weight limit and the increase of the battery cell weight limit from 200kg to 230kg, still stand.
Also, drivers will be able to regenerate energy at 150kW under braking, upped from the previous limit of 100kW.
