Matt Rao took the winner's spoils in what proved to be a surprisingly entertaining second British Formula 3 race at Snetterton.
Fortec Motorsport's Rao led home team-mate Sam MacLeod and Double R Racing's Andy Chang.
Only three cars - half the field - finished the reverse-grid encounter.
It was a fortuitous win for Rao, who inherited the lead with two laps remaining as MacLeod tried to pass Camren Kaminsky at Riches.
Kaminsky ended up spinning, while MacLeod lost several seconds. This handed Rao a four-second lead, leaving MacLeod with a little too much to do in the time remaining, although he did halve the deficit with fastest lap on the last circuit.
The championship's most consistent driver, Martin Cao, retired from second place on lap 10, bringing the points leader's run of second places to a halt at seven.
Both Rao and Cao were summoned to the race director after the race, misuse of track limits the topic of discussion once again, but they escaped without sanction.
