GP2 Series title outsider Stefano Coletti is to make a surprise return to Formula 3 to contest next month's Macau Grand Prix.
Coletti, who has taken three GP2 wins this season and has a mathematical chance of the championship, will replace Fortec Motorsport-bound Tom Blomqvist in EuroInternational's Dallara-Mercedes.
The 24-year-old Monegasque has not raced in F3 since 2009, his second season in the Euro Series, when he was a race winner with Prema Powerteam.
He competed at Macau in 2008 and '09, failing to finish on either occasion.
Coletti announced his Macau GP deal on his Twitter feed, saying: "Wooohoooo what a great track can't wait to be there!"
He has raced with the EuroInternational team of Antonio Ferrari before, when he was a race winner in Formula BMW USA in 2006.
Ferrari indicated to AUTOSPORT that Coletti is likely to contest this weekend's F3 European Championship finale at Hockenheim alongside Blomqvist, in the car that the team ran for Nick Cassidy in July's Norisring round.
