Ernesto Viso will return to GP2 action with Racing Engineering this weekend at Magny-Cours.
The Venezuelan will replace Sergio Jimenez at the Spanish team, where he will drive alongside Javier Villa.
A statement from the team said: "Ernesto will be a valuable addition for the team thanks to his knowledge of GP2 after competing in the series for the last two seasons.
"With Villa and Viso, Racing Engineering presents in France a team with a combination of youth and talent and a win is a real possibility."
Viso took two wins last year for iSport on his way to sixth in the standings. He was not on the grid for the start of this season, but he did appear at the recent Paul Ricard test where he drove for FMS.
